We were at the Kukuiula culinary market the other day. After listening to Johnny Rivera, decided to grab a happy hour at one of the restaurants. Merriman’s was full so we went across the street to The Table. What a pleasant surprise!
We ate at the bar, which isn’t huge but has enough tables and bar space to fit quite a few people. Their happy hour specials are good: $5.00 local beers and $10.00 select wines. I had Maui Brewing Big Swell, which I love. They also offer $8.00 Mai Tais but that’s not our jam. Happy hour is from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.
What really stood out was the food. They have a fairly expansive Happy Hour menu (pictures below). We got three items, which turned out to be way too much food.
The Beef Poutine was to die for. Very tender cubes of beef, slathered in sauce over a bunch of fries. Yes, the fries got soggy with the sauce but that made them even better.
Next, we had Brussels sprouts. They were deep fried with some sort of sauce. Very soft and very delicious.
Finally we had the fried calamari. Equally as good and plenty to share.
The service was excellent. We felt well attended to. And the view – looking down at the shopping center or out beyond. Excellent. High recommend.
